Hospital Level Dementia Care
We welcome new residents and enjoy getting to know them.
People are encouraged to continue with familiar roles and remain involved in the running of their home.
Our residents enjoy a wide range of activities, outings and community involvement.
Family become part of the community we have and we encourage their continuing involvement in their loved ones' lives.
We have several programmes available for family support.
COVID ALERT LEVEL ONE:
24 September 2020
Warmest greetings, Family and Friends
We thank you for your patience and understanding as we move into Level 1 again together.
We apologise for the slight delay in implementing the appropriate visiting changes. We have been awaiting formal notification of the guidelines from the Ministry of Health, which we received this morning.
VISITING AT LEVEL 1
All visits continue to be by appointment only. Even in Level 1 it is vital we remain aware of the need for ongoing infection prevention measures due to the vulnerable nature of aged residential care. We must guard against becoming complacent, and the risks relaxed vigilance would pose.
1. Appointments need to be made in advance with the Clinical Manager or Registered Nurse.
2. All visitors will be screened by a staff member prior to entering the facility
3. If you have been to a region at Level 2, you will need to wear a face mask for the duration of your visit.
4. Entry of visitors who have been to a region higher than level 2 will be assessed on a case by case basis.
5. Visitor entry hours are from 10 am to 4.30 pm daily. Once within the facility, your visit may be extended beyond these hours.
6. All visitors should perform hand hygiene using soap and water or alcohol-based hand rub upon entry to the facility.
7. A 14-day symptom-free period will apply before overseas visitors may enter the facility.
8. Leaving the facility is now permitted, with resident/accompanying person encouraged to be responsible for good hygiene practice, and providing the facility with a record of their movements for the purposes of contract tracing upon return.
9. There is no restriction on the number or age of visitors.
10. Please refrain from visiting if you or anyone you are in close contact with has any symptoms of illness.
11. If a significant number of residents becomes unwell for any reason, our standard outbreak/temporary closure procedures will apply.
It will be wonderful to have our home filled with the happy voices and laughter your visits bring. Thank so much again for your patience and understanding as we navigate our way through these unfamiliar waters.
